Artist Statement

by Yaul Perez-Stable Husni

Before beginning a poem, one should have a clear resolution in mind. That is to say, writing should begin only when the aim and desired effect of the poem are clear. I draw my inspiration by keeping small things that people hand to me in my bedside drawer. Weeks, may be months later, I pull them out and write about them.
