The Role of Aurora Kinase A (AURKA) in Regulating Translation of Oncogenes in Gastrointestinal Cancers
Aurora kinase A (AURKA) is frequently amplified and overexpressed in gastrointestinal cancers. In this report, we show that AURKA and EIF4E regulate the expression of the same oncogenes, suggesting that AURKA could play a role in regulating EIF4E-cap dependent translation of oncogenes. Inhibition of AURKA could be a plausible therapeutic approach in these cancers.
