Caenorhabditis elegans Under the Influence: Testing the Ef-fects of Caffeine and Ethanol on C. elegans Reproduction
Timed exposures to caffeine and ethanol in Caenorhabditis elegans reveal that both reduce reproductive success; chronic caffeine exposure nearly eliminated egg production and viable progeny, while brief peri-ovulatory ethanol exposure increased egg production but sharply reduced embryo viability.
