“Developing excellent communication skills is absolutely essential to effective leadership….. If a leader can’t get a message across clearly and motivate others to act on it, then having a message doesn’t even matter.” — Gilbert Amelio
So how can you make sure your message is heard? Cara Tuttle Bell, Director of Project Safe, will introduce workshop participants to strategies for improving their communication skills and cultivating pretense through their speaking style. Through discussion and exercises during the workshop participants will:
- reflect upon their current speaking style
- explore strategies for delivering clear, convincing, and compelling messages in both informal and formal settings
- learn how to organize material and deliver their message for impact
This workshop is open to all graduate school students (PhD, MA, MFS, MLAS & MS) and postdocs.
