OBSERVE. Actors present difficult but familiar interpersonal situations.
INTERACT. Facilitators stop the action and lead the participants in an interactive conversation with the characters about their experience.
REPLAY. Participants offer suggestions about how the actors might navigate these situations successfully. Then, in real time, the scene is replayed using these suggestions.
As more people are shifting to remote settings, it is important to explore how moments of bias may shape the workplace. This program will provide a unique way of presenting, talking, about and processing some difficult situations that graduate students may observe during their time at Vanderbilt or in their career. During this interactive workshop participants will explore difficult dialogues about interpersonal behavior using a three part model: Observe. Interact. Replay. It provides a safe, dynamic, low‐risk space to experiment with human behavior and test out interpersonal strategies. and gain the skills and knowledge needed in these situations.
