Google Earth was first fathomed by the sci-fi author Neal Stephenson, nearly 15 years before its realization. In his 1992 book, Snow Crash, characters use a program called “Earth” to view the world in real-time and track each other’s movements. In this video, I used Google Earth to explore the city I was dreaming of this cold winter, and strung together hundreds of snapshots in order to bring it to life.
