Wasserstein, Professor of History and Jewish Studies, and Philip Lieberman, Professor of Jewish Studies, Law, and Religious Studies, have co-authored an opinion piece for The Tennessean titled Avoid Fanning the Flames of Inter-Religious and Inter-Racial Hatred. This piece discusses how the full page ad that ran in The Tennessean on June 21 got it wrong about Islam and made a false End of Times prediction, but it is dangerous in this polarized era.
