Caldwell recently published Growing in God’s Love: A Story Bible with clarity, diversity, and accuracy in mind. “After taking a critical look at about two dozen Bible storybooks, I was inspired to start work on a new one focused on good contemporary biblical scholarship.”
‘Growing in God’s Love’ (Westminster John Knox Press, 2018)Amy Jill-Levine, a professor of Jewish Studies, co-authored two stories in Growing in God’s Love: A Story Bible including parable stories in Who Counts? 100 Sheep, Ten Coins, and Two Sons. Caldwell speaks highly of Jill-Levine’s commitment to unpacking these stories that so often have been packaged to be cute and easily digestible and constructing the timeless stories in a way that encourages critical and engaging conversations.
