The mission of the Journal of STEM Outreach is to serve as an outlet for researchers who develop and implement programs that connect formal and informal educators with STEM professionals. The JSO will publish program descriptions that provide preliminary evaluation data on programs that might be of value to other researchers, formal research studies on STEM outreach programs, relationships, events, etc., and case studies on programs that exemplify unique data or aspects of a particular program. A limited number of commentaries will also be accepted each issue.

The JSO is a peer-reviewed, open-access, quarterly journal, with the first issue being published on January 15, 2018. The initial deadline for submissions is September 15, 2017.
