Patrick R. Grzanka is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychology and core faculty in the Women, Gender, and Sexuality and American Studies programs at the University of Tennessee, where he founded and co-directs the Intersectionality Community of Scholars. His interdisciplinary research investigates emotions and mental health at the intersections of race, gender, and sexuality. His work on LGBT-affirmative psychotherapy has been funded by the National Science Foundation, and his first book, Intersectionality: A Foundations and Frontiers Reader, was published in 2014. He formerly taught at Arizona State University and holds a Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Maryland.
