Grad Student Philip Pettis has won the Martin Levine Student Paper Award
Graduate student Philip Pettis was presented with the Martin Levine Student Paper Award at the Sociologists’ AIDS Network (SAN) meeting during the American Sociological Association (ASA) annual meeting of 2019. Pettis’s paper is titled “An Examination of the Role of State-Level Contextual Factors on HIV Infection Rates: The Case of Men Who Have Sex with Men.” The Martin Levine Student Paper Award is in honor of the late Marine Levine, a pioneer in the sociological study of homosexuality and one of the founders of SAN. The winner will receive an award of $100 and a five-year membership to SAN.
