Reporting and Responding to Disclosures of Sexual Misconduct
Project Safe and Title IX partner to offer this 60-90-minute workshop designed to help faculty and staff better understand and navigate their mandatory reporting obligations in ways that are supportive, affirming, and compliant.  Participants will review case studies, leave with action plans and resources, and learn about warning signs and survivor behaviors, how to respond with empathy while following University policies and procedures, and the University’s many support resources available to those who have been impacted by sexual harassment and/or intimate partner violence.  To request this presentation, email projectsafe@vanderbilt.edu.

Sexual Harassment Prevention Workshop
Learn what constitutes sexual harassment, debunk myths and misinformation relevant to identifying and preventing sexual harassment in the academic environment, and develop skills to address sexual harassment whether happening to you or others.  We will also review your reporting requirements and reporting structure as mandatory reporters. Contact projectsafe@vanderbilt.edu to learn more.

Assertiveness Training
The Director of Project Safe offers assertiveness training for individuals and small groups.  Assertiveness training may help a person set and maintain boundaries, resist unwanted advances, and, as a supplement to Project Safe’s bystander intervention training, actively intervene to prevent or disrupt sexual misconduct occurring around them. Email projectsafe@vanderbilt.edu for more information or to request a program.

Lunch & Learn Series

Customized Programs
Project Safe staff are happy to help design a program for your office, department, student organization, residence hall, professional association, and more.  We regularly present on timely issues of local and national significance.  We are also available to provide a victim advocate for appropriate programs occurring within the VU community. Email projectsafe@vanderbilt.edu for more information or to request a program.

Bystander Intervention Training
Vanderbilt’s bystander intervention curriculum is an inclusive, comprehensive approach to violence prevention that addresses barriers and opportunities for intervention across all levels of the socio-ecological model. Informed by social change theory, the model targets all community members as potential bystanders, and seeks to engage them, through awareness, education, and skills-practice, in proactive behaviors that establish intolerance of violence as the norm, as well as reactive interventions in high-risk situations – resulting in the reduction of violence.  Project Safe offers 30-60 minute introductory educational programs and 2-3-hour training sessions.
