Things to know before applying:

  • All student’s who are approved for the OACS Lyft Program are required to complete a brief Feedback and Reflection Form. Completion of the Feedback and Reflection form is required for returning applicants.
  • Only rides within Davidson County will be approved through the OACS Lyft Program.
  • The OACS Lyft Program is only for co-curricular service opportunities. Rides associated with academic credit, e.g., teaching practicums, internship courses, or academic service-learning courses, will not be approved.
    • Students pursuing service experiences associated with academic credit should contact the department requiring the service about any transportation resources that might be available.
  • OACS Lyft Codes cannot be shared with other students or members of your org. Each student who will need rides to their service site, must apply to the OACS Lyft Program and be approved in order to use an OACS Lyft code.
    • Violations of the OACS Lyft Program Policies may be referred to the Office of Student Accountability, Community Standards, and Academic Integrity and disciplinary action may be taken through the accountability system.
  • If you are carpooling with someone who has been approved for an OACS Lyft Program code and the individual approved for the code is unable to call a ride for your group, please contact OACS as soon as possible to request a one-time ride. With advance notice, an OACS staff member may be able to call a ride for you.
  • Organizations hosting volunteers utilizing the OACS Lyft Program must be approved. Please check the list below or the OACS Lyft for Service application form to review the approved partners list. If your partner organization has not yet been approved, please send the OACS Lyft Program Community Partner Agreement Form to your contact at the organization.
    • Note: This form must be completed by an organization representative and not submitted by a student.
  • The code limit for Spring Semester 2020 is $50. To encourage carpooling and to maximize efficiency of the program, each student organization is limited to 3 codes.
    • If you think your organization will need more transportation support to service sites than our limit of 3 people per organization will allow, we may be able to help. Please email: mary.e.mulliken@vanderbilt.edu for more information about getting more transportation funds to meet the needs of your organization .
    • The OACS Lyft Program is a first-come, first-serve resource, and we may not be able to accommodate requests for additional rides.
  • Codes from the OACS Lyft program do not cover tips. If riders choose to provide a tip, that amount will be charged to the rider’s personal account.
