{"id":6748,"date":"2013-08-01T00:00:05","date_gmt":"2013-08-01T05:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"\/nashvillereview\/?p=6748"},"modified":"2015-03-25T15:55:52","modified_gmt":"2015-03-25T21:55:52","slug":"wishing-well-j-viewz-remix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp0.vanderbilt.edu\/nashvillereview\/archives\/6748","title":{"rendered":"Wild Cub"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6>Wishing Well (j. viewz Remix)<\/h6>\n<p><iframe width=\"740\" height=\"400\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/w.soundcloud.com\/player\/?visual=true&#038;url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F101314330&#038;show_artwork=true&#038;maxwidth=740&#038;maxheight=1000\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h6><a href=\"\/nashvillereview\/archives\/6632\">Wild Cub<\/a><\/h6>\n<p>Formed in early 2012 by songwriter-composer Keegan DeWitt and multi-instrumentalist Jeremy Bullock, Wild Cub\u2019s debut LP <em>Youth <\/em>was released last August in the US and showcases the now five-piece band\u2019s dexterity in seamless transitions between infectious electro-pop, tropical rhythms, and quiet washes of cinematic reflection.<\/p>\n<p>PASTE has called <em>Youth <\/em>\u201cfull of small complexities that fill songs as they unwittingly slide into each other,\u201d and The Wall Street Journal\u2019s Speakeasy deemed Wild Cub one of \u201812 Acts to Watch\u2019 at the 2012 CMJ Music Marathon, while Entertainment Weekly recommended lead single \u201cThunder Clatter\u201d as \u201cclattering joyful noise.\u201d Press attention has continued, with Nylon giving their \u2018Band Crush\u2019 stamp of approval, as well as video and track premieres on noted sites such as Spin, Paste, IFC, RCRD LBL, Refinery29 and more. A cover of Jessie Ware\u2019s \u201cRunning\u201d and a remix of Atlas Genius\u2019 \u201cSymptoms\u201d brought increased awareness, and the band\u2019s electrifying live show has established Wild Cub as a force.<\/p>\n<p>Freshly into 2013, the band has seen the release of <em>Youth<\/em> in the UK, with notable press attention from Clash Music, The Guardian, The Line Of Best Fit (\u201c<em>Youth<\/em> relentlessly offers up huge pop songs delivered with sheer gusto &amp; intelligence\u201d), and Top Shop (\u201csweet, tropically-tinged, dance-y pop\u201d). Not ones to rest for long, the band recently performed at designer Rebecca Minkoff\u2019s NY Fashion Week show and burned through eight shows at this year\u2019s SXSW festival.
