Soft bulbs of morpho blue,
\ntight light pruned to a circuit,
\nthe swallows feather and vector the wind.<\/p>\n
I plume to watch, freshed in the ground;
\nthey ring the trees as their own
\nsweet planets. Continuous streaks,
\nthe green-blue preens take flying lessons,<\/p>\n
beam to the ground they are bound by,
\nlike no flown thing. They bring
\naround the ground and bright as floods
\nin winter, flap the wind that takes them,<\/p>\n
pushes them into its envelope. The swallows,
\nso close, beat; I let them scrim
\nmy stance, twist neatly solar.<\/p>\n
I swallow, lift at my chest where the freckles
\ncrack, where the wet wings gleam. Swallows
\nsweep out to swing my heart up with the hawk
\nwho circles the skirmish, weeps, and screams.<\/p>\n
