she\u2019s driving with the red lights blaring. thru the intersection. she thinks about killing
\ntime. how 9:59 a.m. murders<\/p>\n
9:58 a.m. and how the red seconds flock to the park bench of a spent afternoon. or lie
\ncrushed in the ashtray days of, oh<\/p>\n
february. 1981. having (since it\u2019s now ten o\u2019clock. wednesday. years later) been murdered.
\nand so accumulating.<\/p>\n
a murdered murder of crows<\/em>, she thinks. and smiles. smokes. she coughs and coughdrops. a lame crow with her father\u2019s hammer. because of the places she\u2019s lived. it was it couldn\u2019t have been cincinnati because she\u2019s never visited cincinnati.<\/p>\n but thinking it sends her there now.<\/p>\n doesn\u2019t it. she thinks with the hammer she could have murdered a whole murder of crows.<\/p>\n which causes karen to laugh. the phrase \u201cmurder murder\u201d maybe something<\/p>\n more for anti-war and anti-abortion activists. karen is also anti- but not after all, she smokes. she murders the crow. she decides in this instant i\u2019d like to quit what karen can\u2019t decide (she knows it was a wednesday. morning. february. 1981)<\/p>\n is whether the crow died at 9:58 a.m. exactly? what concerns karen is the inexactitude.<\/p>\n moments both of- and not of-the-clock. moments she seems to have experienced without she\u2019s never been. wherever murder is a time or place to gather or commit or become.<\/p>\n she feels reverent somehow. reassured<\/p>\n

\nnot at killing but at killing the act of <\/em>killing. which is a silly thought actually.<\/p>\n

\nsmoking<\/em>. that much is inarguable.<\/p>\n
\nor some other time. and if the crow died at 9:58 a.m. where within 9:58 a.m. did the crow die<\/p>\n
\ninhabiting. cincinnati. someplace<\/p>\n
