\nsprouting a second set of arms & wrapping them around me\u2014
\nof their being so strong they carry me without a struggle
\ndown the hall to the principal\u2019s office, where I am reprimanded
\nfor showing them a poem about human grief.
\nHalf the time I am clawing my way out of a dream
\nabout my mother growing flowers
\nfrom her chest so she\u2019ll look pretty in her casket,<\/em>
\n& her hair falls out by the handful.<\/p>\n
\ndespite my mother trying to convince me of him for 24 years.
\nIf there is a God, then I\u2019ve definitely never been in control.<\/p>\n
\n& stolen from their tired lives. Of men I\u2019ve laid down in groves
\nof poison ivy & pleased under the moon, which was clich\u00e9
\nuntil just now when I reclaimed the moon.
\nMoon, you have seen me control the hands of men, have you not?
\nThese men, who I have let have me.
\nTo whom I have said, the real self is very scary.<\/em>
