Never mind the pills kicking in, their spell<br \/>\nthat showers the waiting room, once full of shame,<br \/>\nin a soft rain of hot sparks that pity sometimes is,<br \/>\nhow it mends the past like a welder seams metal,<br \/>\nand isn\u2019t that why we\u2019re all here, addicts<br \/>\nand arthritics&#8211;we close our eyes completely<br \/>\nbut the edges only blur&#8211;and though the door\u2019s the same,<br \/>\nsomehow the exit, like the worst wounds, is greater<br \/>\nthan the entrance was. I throw it open for all to see<br \/>\nhow daylight, so tall, has imagination. It has heart.
