Students, Residents, and Fellows

Vanderbilt accepts and supports students, residents, and fellows taking on the role of Principal Investigator for research studies. However, you must identify a Faculty Advisor for your project. Your advisor/mentor will be a resource and help guide you through the research process. The Vanderbilt HRPP has specific policies and procedures related to the Responsibilities of Investigators. Please review these before you begin your study.

Principal Investigators

Taking on the role of Principal Investigator for research studies can be a challenging task. Not only are you responsible for the overall conduct of the study, but you are also responsible for all of those individuals working on the study. The Vanderbilt HRPP has specific policies and procedures related to the Responsibilities of Investigators. Please review these before you begin your study.

Study Coordinators

Taking on the role of Study Coordinator for a research study or studies can be a challenging task. You are the key person who interacts with the Principal Investigator and Key Study Personnel, the IRB, and the Sponsor.
