LEAPS (Liaisons Educating & Advocating for Psychological Support)
LEAPS is a group of undergraduate students who work with the Center for Student Wellbeing as peer educators to promote positive mental health and wellbeing on the Vanderbilt University campus through outreach activities.
To decrease the stigma associated with seeking help
To improve visibility and accessibility of the campus resources
To serve as student leaders and role-models
To increase knowledge and understanding of mental health and wellness topics of college students
To increase awareness and understanding on campus of mental health issues and emotional wellness
To develop programming and events for the VU Campus
Advocate for effective campus practices to promote positive coping behaviors
Facilitate presentations to student groups about topics such as: Campus Resources, Stress & Coping, Mindfulness, Time Management, and Study Skills
Collaborate with other campus organizations and departments programming efforts
Host events that promote positive coping skills and healthy choices
Host wellness information tables at various campus events
Applications will reopen in Spring.
Attend training sessions
Attend bi-weekly membership meetings during the academic year.
Actively participate in LEAPS outreach & prevention events
