Graduate Student Funding Opportunity

The Office of Science Graduate Student Research is accepting applications from qualified Ph.D. candidates for the SCGSR program.   Per the SCGSR website, the program “provides supplemental awards to outstanding U.S. graduate students to pursue part of their graduate research at a DOE laboratory/facility in areas that address scientific challenges central to the Office of Science mission.”

The award enables students to spend from 3 to 12 months at the DOE lab/facility, and includes travel (inbound/outbound) and a monthly stipend for the duration of the award period.

Applicants must be pursuing a Ph.D. in

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Material Sciences
  • Biology (non-medical)
  • Mathematics
  • Engineering
  • Computer or Computational Sciences
  • Select areas of environmental sciences

The application deadline is May 6, 2020, at 5:00 PM ET.
