In this study center program, students immerse themselves in the day-to-day of Italian life and language. Students choose to live in either with an Italian family or with CET peers and an Italian roommate. Students take their classes at the CET Center in Siena's historic city center, which is walking distance from their accommodations. Coursework includes either one or two semesters of an Italian language class, and a variety of electives in topics such as art history, economics, gender and sexuality, computer science, and Italian studies. In July, students experience the Palio di Siena, a centuries-old horse race filled with community and competition. This Tuscan city is bursting with culture, including Italian cafes and restaurants, an open-air market, winding brick alleyways, and the famous Piazza del Campo.
