In this study center program, facilitated by CIEE, students live and learn in Dakar, the political and economic capital of Senegal, one of the most democratic countries in West Africa. The city is home to the National Assembly, president's palace, and busling Sandaga Market. Students live with a Senegalese host family where they can practice their French and/or Wolof language skills, and learn about the day-to-day life in Senegal. Coursework includes required French and Wolof courses and electives taught in either French or English. In addition to their coursework, students can choose to participate in an internship, volunteering opportunities, or a research project.
