Wherever possible, summer Vanderbilt tuition will be used to cover all costs of the program, including housing and other standard costs billable by GEO's overseas partners. Fees due to individual circumstance, such as additional course fees, housing cleanup fees, visa fees, and other fees not included in our partners' standard billing cannot be included. Please note the following about the out-of-pocket costs listed above:

  • Vanderbilt summer tuition is billed by the credit hour (Vanderbilt fee posting). The tuition amount given here reflects this program's standard load of 6 credits. If you undertake more than the standard load of credit hours, Vanderbilt will bill for any additional hours upon return.
  • If you take a summer DIS course that carries an additional course fee, that fee will be charged via your Vanderbilt bill, as an adjustment to the program fee.
  • The cost of Vanderbilt's mandatory health insurance coverage (GeoBlue) is included in the Program Fee paid to Vanderbilt. This cost is based on the length of the program and accounts for $125 of the listed Program Fee.
  • Visa/residence permit costs and requirements may vary depending on your nationality.
  • Airfare costs are highly variable and influenced by a number of factors, so we recommend making your own estimates based on your personal travel plans.
  • There may be predeparture costs associated with health checks, vaccination, prescriptions, etc. These costs will vary individually and are not estimated here.
  • In addition to the costs above, you should also maintain your health insurance coverage in your home country in case of medical emergency.
