The Escalation Workshop is a 90-minute training consisting of a video and facilitated discussion on the topic of relationship violence. Participants learn about the prevalence and warning signs of dating violence and how to support a friend. This presentation examines the ways in which language reflects and sometimes perpetuates violence in our culture. By exploring common vernacular, phrases, slang terms, etc. participants will learn how insidious our language can be, and how to more carefully examine the way culture describes and speaks about intimacy, women, and sexual violence.
