Vanderbilt University MLK Commemorative Series Teach-Ins: Call for Proposals

To: Vanderbilt University Faculty, Staff, Post-Docs, and Graduate/Professional Students;

On Monday, January 21st, 2019, Vanderbilt University will celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King.

We will host a day of service, reflection and fellowship focusing on this year’s theme: Our Lives, Our Movement, Our Responsibility. As in previous years, we are offering the Vanderbilt community the opportunity to engage with the main theme through informative and educational Teach-Ins on that day. We invite Vanderbilt Faculty, Staff Post-Docs, and Graduate/Professional students to submit proposals for leading these Teach-Ins for the Vanderbilt Community.

Proposals should describe a seventy-five minute interactive and engaging educational experience aimed at facilitating meaningful, tangible, and active participation towards activism, desegregation, inclusion and equity.

For further information and to submit your Teach-In proposals (including a brief bio, abstract and the central teach-in objectives), please access the following link: https://www.vanderbilt.edu/mlk/get-involved/teach-in-proposals/

Please note that the deadline for proposals is November 16th, 11:59 p.m.

The MLK Commemorative Series Teach-In Subcommittee will begin reviewing proposals immediately after this date. Three proposals will be selected and the main contact for selected proposals will be notified. Selected proposals will be awarded a $500 stipend.
