A Spooky Good Time: Curb Scholar Halloween Party
Fresh on the heels of their return from New Orleans, the scholars received a little break from the weekly Monday meeting and instead we took the time to celebrate the conclusion of spooky season, with a Curb Center Halloween party. Students were encouraged to don their best festive attire and bring a friend for hot chocolate, a chili supper, and a pumpkin decorating competition. We occupied the Curb Center courtyard, played a few rounds of cornhole, jammed to some Halloween classics, then painted, carved, and bedecked, a host of orange gourds. The gang was joined by Program Coordinator Christine Claffey’s show-stopping pup Sadie, in a nautical-themed shark costume. And though she wasn’t able to carve any pumpkins herself, Sadie gladly assisted our clean-up efforts by licking up every errant seed. Come see some of our jack-o-lantern handiwork in person at the entry to the Curb Center, at least till the end of the week.
