Posted by on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 in Events, Resource.

The Center for Teaching is again collaborating with the Writing Studio, the Jean & Alexander Heard Library, the English Language Center, and (new this year) the Curb Center to develop resourceful experiences for anyone who teaches writing at Vanderbilt.  This year, we’re sponsoring a one-day Teaching.Writing.Learning. Institute, held on Friday, September 12.

This day-long workshop will help participants develop writing assignments that engage students in challenging and meaningful ways. We’ll explore the following:

  • An introduction to learning how cognitive science, technology, and theory affect writing pedagogy
  • Writing assignments that integrate media such as video, still photography, and audio (multimodal assignments)

Registration will be limited to 25.  To register, fill out this form by August 25, when registration closes and participants will be notified by email. For additional info, contact Elizabeth Covington at the Writing Studio.
