Ryan Jarrett

Degree Program: PhD, Biostatistics
Advisor: Matthew Shotwell

Hi, I’m Ryan. I went to Eckerd College (link: https://www.eckerd.edu/) for my undergraduate degree, where I double majored in Economics and International Relations and Global Affairs, and am now a 4th year PhD student/candidate in Biostatistics here at Vanderbilt. Since starting at Vanderbilt, I’ve had the chance to work on projects in a number of different areas, including the design of pharmacokinetic experiments, risk-adjusted predictive modeling, geocoding and mapping of spatial data, text mining of unstructured medical records, and the development of R Shiny web applications and REDCap databases. For my dissertation I am currently working on applying optimal design methodologies (i.e. Identifying which observations confer the most information to your model) to replication experiments. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about myself, my research, the Vanderbilt Biostatistics department, or Nashville in general. (link: ryan.t.jarrett@vanderbilt.edu)
