Academic Clubs

What are Academic Clubs?

Academic Clubs provide students with the opportunity to study regularly with dedicated peers enrolled in the same course as they work together to master course content.

During weekly Academic Club meetings, students work together with each other to answer questions and clarify course concepts. A facilitating subject tutor is present at all weekly Academic Club meetings to help assist working groups as needed. Through studying collaboratively, students improve their own understanding of course material while helping their peers do the same in a supportive environment.

What are the expectations of students in Academic Clubs?

Club members are expected to attend all weekly meetings. Every week attendance is verified for each club by a graduate student worker at the BCC. Three absences from club meetings or withdrawal from the course will result in dismissal from the group.
